Best pork knuckle and schnitzel we have had on our trip in Munich so far! The service was fantastic also. Thanks for a fabulous lunch.
We couldn't sit outside in the Biergarten because of the weather. The menu was nice, but the courses a bit on the smaller side. Expensive, for what we had: about 40-50% more than in any other Gasthof. There are better choices in Schwabing, IMO.
Food isn't worth the price, period. Had dinner in the Kaisergarten several times. You sit comfortably, but that's about it. Service is extremely different. From warmly attentive to absolutely outrageous. The most important thing that food is unfortunately not good. Regardless of whether it is fish, chicken, Böfflamott, roast pork and much more ... none of them tasty and in no way worth the high price. Only the schnitzel was good, but when I see the price, then again not ok in terms of price / performance ratio. Years ago Kaisergarten had a great kitchen, unfortunately that has changed for the better. All the best. Hello.
Quaint. Popular with the local foodie crowd.
Excellent Kaiserschmarrn
The restaurant is nicely decorated and the food is fantastic. However, the best part of my evening here was how nice the staff is, out waitress was very helpful and caring greatly about us. I will surely come back.
Excellent cuisine, friendly service. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
I have always enjoyed my visits so far.
Nice garden, service okay, high-priced food, but unfortunately not of the appropriate quality. Possibly. but are they also better in Bavarian cuisine than with salad ...
Came here just for Kaiserschmarrn. It was good and I’m glad I got to try this eggy pancake-like shreds of a dessert. I think it was something like 7€ for the single person serving. Many locals were dining or getting drinks here
It's relaxed, friendly here and, when the weather is good, it's very easy to go out with friends. Aperitif & Vino is always possible here, the food is good. There is only one star deduction for the Kaiserschmarren (maybe unjustified, please test it yourself :) that was too much egg for me ... The waiters are always friendly and even when it is very busy, they are quick.
Casual. High-quality. Favorite place in Schwabing - on the wooden bench under the chestnut trees. Best schnitzel in Munich. And you should definitely leave some space for the Kaiserschmarrn from the iron pan ...
I've been a guest in the Kaisergarten for a number of years; this is almost an authority in Munich's Schwabing. The location is great; the beer garden cozy and rustic; Parking spaces typically not available in Schwabing. The staff is mostly attentive and friendly, even if there is a high turnover. Now to the main point, the food. The menu hasn't changed for many years; it is “clear”, that is to say concise and mostly contains classic, hearty dishes; there are also seasonal specialties. The Wiener Schnitzel is just as traditionally good as the well-known and popular Kaiserschmarren. And so I come to my criticism: Unfortunately, the quality and preparation of these two dishes are very inconsistent, for example, the fried potatoes are sometimes great, then again very greasy and sometimes burnt. The Kaiserschmarren is sometimes super "fluffy" and nice with thick pieces; other times it consists of flat omelette-like pieces, sometimes too greasy and with way too much “shot”. I think unfortunately there has been a certain "flippancy" for a long time according to the motto "it fits!" Here you should once again rely on consistently good and careful preparation, because in principle the food is good. Actually it would only have been 3 stars in total; However, I like the location and therefore well-intentioned 4.
We had to wait more than 1,5 hours to get our order of schnitzels and schweinebraten. Then the schnitzels came, but without the salad, which we never received, even after asking explicitly about it. The schnitzel itself was tasty though and it's a nice setting, but the overall experience felt a bit sour with the slow service.
The best Bavarian restaurant in Munich, especially the Kaiserschmarrn and Wiener Schnitzel are very tasty. If you like Bavarian cuisine or are visiting Munich, I can recommend the Kaisergarten! Great to eat outside in summer.
Cozy, rather smaller garden. The food is tasty and the service is friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
Nice garden, nice shop. Unfortunately yesterday we had a broken glass in the tartare. Quite small and easy to miss, we may have missed some too. This is life-threatening and shows poor hygiene or negligence in the kitchen. An absolute NOGO! But the only excuse we were offered was a cappuccino "or a tea". The full amount of the tartare was on the bill. People, are you still okay? Do you really think that's how you keep customers? I work 100 m further and could be a regular, but so ?? Certainly not! I also didn't understand the strange jelly that was spread around the tartare and stuck to the teeth - it was inedible and a catastrophe in terms of taste. And what does (carelessly clapped) tomato sauce do on a leafy salad? I didn't understand either. The best part of the meal was the bread, which is more thanks to the Stadler bakery than to the kitchen in the Kaisergarten. At least you have a knack for suppliers. Service was very friendly and attentive, but unfortunately that doesn't make up for it ... a shame!
Food very good and nice garden. Points are deducted for the service, who pretty much ignored us in the end, and for the high prices.
Wonderful little restaurant and beer garden, small dishes and mains, from Austria and Germany. Very friendly and competent service.
Organization was a bit chaotic at first, the service, but we had it super friendly and attentive. Food was good.
The food is worth a visit. That would have deserved a 4 star rating. The service rather not. Everyone seems to be haphazardly confused. I sat in front of my empty glass for about 40 minutes without anyone ever asking if there was anything else. The bill was brought without our asking and before our dessert.
Excellent service
The best schnitzel in Munich and perhaps the best Kaiserschmarren in the world. Plus a great ambience and perfect service every time. What more do you want?
Friendly service and very good food.
I am certainly impressed with this beautiful place. I feel welcomed, or maybe it’s just München is so different from Berlin. Cozy, clean place with great staff! The waiter placed us super fast, smiling and being extremely cordial. I definitely recommend this place, if I am back in Bavaria I would make sure to visit again!
#Kaiserschmarrn
Absolutely lovely place! Meals were are tasty, one of my favourite Kaiserschmarrns in Munich. Warm atmosphere and kind staff. It's better to reserve a table beforehand. Totally recommended!
This is one of the best place to start your day with great breakfast. I feel that Kaiserschmarrn is their signature dish because it’s the best of all. Their cheese platter is amazing, served with fig sauce and grapes. They have some great dish with Feta cheese. After I finished the meal I almost saw stars over my head🤤. They have customized menus for special events such Christmas and New Year Eve. Enjoy your meal :)
Authentic Bavarian cooking.
Best schnitzel I've tasted so far, a little far to walk from the subway station but if you're not in a hurry, it's a great place to eat!
Service is friendly, food is good. With spontaneous visits you have to be lucky, always well attended. For some dishes on the menu, the prices are too high for me.
Very good typical Bavarian restaurant. Great food and wine. Beautiful environment. This is not a tourist place. Very much local and authentic. I loved it.
Don’t go to this restaurant, we have been waiting one hour and a half for our dish without getting any apologies or discounts when paying the bill.
Good beer, good food. But we waited for too long for food. Didn't finish the desert.
This is the worst biergarten in Munich. And they have the most terrible waiters. The waiters don’t think it is their job to serve you. When we asked her to clean our table, I heard the most ridiculous answer; she said she doesn’t have time for it. And she was very rude in all her actions. Don’t waste your time to go there.
We came here with the promise of the best Kaiserschmarrn "in the world" and were not disappointed. Great staff, delicious desert and coffee. A+
The cheese and the beer were very good. Service was a bit slow but friendly. Nice place, the small garden is cute.
You can’t go wrong with Kaisergarten. Food, , location, service and people are great. I would rather order their standard food than their specials.
One of the best wiener schnitzel in town. No doubt. Usual boring beers and a decent selection of wine and drinks. Service wise they can gift you with a very nice and caring experience.. or not. Very random.
Great neighbourhood restaurant. 'Modern' German food and fresh beer 👍
Great weisswurst - Even though it’s a sin to have them after midday in Bavaria, the staff were very accommodating. Careful though, they’re slippery.. one of my sausages ended up on the floor :(
Definitely one of those restaurants that is a hidden jewel in Munich! Food was very good. Service was great and it is quite a popular place....definitely have reservations!
Great place for a drink and for dinner. At the heart of Schawbing in Munich, it is a place mostly frequented by schwabingers and true Munich locals. Highly recommended!
Love this beer garden, you can sit under big old trees and enjoy your beer (or whatever you love to drink). Beer garden rule: you can bring your own food, if you like. You can also make reservations (but only inside here).
We visited as a group and the team was super helpful in arranging a bigger table when additional friends joined. I booked because it was listed as having the best Kaiserschmarrn in Munich, and i must admit that the first try was fantastic. It takes about 45 minutes, so order it even before you order your meal. The rest of the menu is very traditional Bavarian food.
Food took long but was good
Beautiful to sit outside, but had to wait more than an hour for our food. Food wasn’t great, meat was cold, salad was rucola instead of cornsalad. Beer was warm. The famous signature Kaiserschmarren was underwhelming and super greasy, not caramelized as described in other reviews. Staff was snappy. Don’t recommend at all.
nice setting, friendly staff and tasty Bavarian food, but -2 stars for letting people smoke cigars (disgusting) and cigarettes in this nice outdoor setting. Please let the vast majority eat and drink without these awful smells! It might not be the law (yet), but please be progressive and create even more business and fans by asking those few smokers to step away from the tables for their craving.
Amazing schnitzels!! Highly recommend giving them a try.
Super delicious, relaxed atmosphere, nice beer garden ... just right. The prices are okay too and the location is good too. By the way, the Schnitzel is a veal schnitzel, even if its shape looks like a pig;)
